Last Month of School!

Well, we finished out our first year of homeschooling with a BANG!  The boys' official transcripts have been sent to us and I'm very happy to say that they each got all A's this year!  And I'm not only impressed with the grades though!  We have seen such an improvement with each of them this year!

Zachary's reading comprehension level is out of control.  He has mastered Math for the 4th and 5th grades already!  His handwriting has improved greatly and he has learned cursive!  Infacct, all of his work is done in cursive now.  He pretty much knows how to type on the computer and do it properly!  And, he has gotten extremely well at writing papers!  Super proud of this kid!

Eli has shocked us this year!  We started out kindergarten not even being able to recognize all the letters of the alphabet much less know the sounds to READING like a champ!!   And when it comes to Math - he is a rockstar!  We are even started him on first grade math back in January -- it just seems to click with him!  I'm crazy excited to see how this year goes with him, but he is already an A+ student in more ways than one!

Tyler -- big three year old preschooler that has basically completed K3 and K4 this year.  In fact, he will start Kindergarten curriculum this fall because he is ready.  He knows all of his letters, capital and lower and their sounds.  And since we worked so hard with Eli on phonics this year and Tyler was around it a lot, he is already reading three letter words himself!  Plus, he has a huge desire to read like his older brothers -- as you will see pictured below!

We learned a lot this year.  We've had a lot of fun.  We've had field trips and parties.  We've had recess time and lunch breaks.  We've loved homeschooling and we've questioned it!  But one thing is for sure -- we LOVE getting to spend time with the boys and getting to be their teachers.  We cherish the fact that we get to spend every day with them instead of having to send them away and let someone else occupy their time.  We love seeing their faces light up when they are trying to learn something and it finally clicks in their little heads.  We love seeing them cheer each other on during test day and they really have become each other's biggest fans!  They see Mommy and Daddy as their teachers and Mommy as the Principal!!  I'm not sure how long we will continue to be able to travel, but I do know that homeschool has become a HUGE positive aspect to this new lifestyle.  And we are loving every minute of it!  So here's to the upcoming 2015-2016 school year!!!

Cleaning up for the end of the year!

The sweetest journal entry ever!  Tyler had to think of one thing that he could wish for and draw a picture of it...this broke my heart.
