Here are some random pictures that we took at our church one Sunday afternoon!

"My mom becoming a travel nurse isn't what changed our lives. God allowing my Daddy to get heart disease changed it. And we're loving every minute of it!" -Zachary, age 9
We celebrated Nathan turning 40 as our little family of five. It's hard to have a huge birthday party when you are states away from everyone! But, we had a great night just the same. This is a huge birthday because I always have kidded Nate on being so much older than me. He has laughed it off (for the most part) but this year is huge!!! Because, the summer that we started dating, Nathan helped me decorate our dining room at my parents' house for my Mom's 40th birthday!!!!!! OMG!!!!! He's getting so old!!
The boys always love picking out gifts and giving them to each other. So Nathan got tons of goodies from the boys ranging from a phone protector, clothes, sports equipment, cooler accessories and much more! I gave Nathan a Fitbit this year - which he loves. Now that he is involved in more physical activity every day, it is nice to constantly be able to keep up with his heart rate! Plus, I get to log in at any time and make sure he is following doctors' orders and keeping his rate down and under a certain limit!! Gotta love technology!! After the gifts, we headed out to see Jurassic World in 3D! It was a really fun night! And like most 40yr olds, we had Nathan back home and in bed before 10pm. :)
This is a prayer that I've prayed for my boys for a long time. Raising children is pretty scary at times, but raising boys is on a whole other level. To think that I am raising men to become fearless leaders, honorable men, good husbands, Godly fathers -- to raise them to respect women, take care of their families, lead their families to church and in the path of the Lord...that is overwhelming at times. However, I also recognize that they have a great example of that person in their lives -- Nathan. I've never known a man more patient, kind, good, reliable, humble and brave as him. He was amazing before he got sick - but to watch his faith continue and watch him embrace this difficult journey that God has given him is nothing short of amazing. I pray all the time that our boys will grow up to be Christ like, I do. But I also know that if I can raise them into men like their Daddy -- they will be Godly and even one of a kind. They will have no choice but to be a man among men.
