"My mom becoming a travel nurse isn't what changed our lives. God allowing my Daddy to get heart disease changed it. And we're loving every minute of it!" -Zachary, age 9

Remembering That Day...

~ April 16, 2015 ~

A picture of a moment in our past has kept popping up in my mind all day today. This is the picture I took on Nathan's last day in Corporate America! This was such a good day for us because we finally had Daddy back home and with us - this day marked our first day as a full-time family of five again! No more crazy schedules. No more going days at a time without a family dinner or meal together. No more of my children having to go to everyone else's home until I could get... Nathan from work and meet up with them before going back into work for myself. This picture represents to me the day that we finally stood up to all that life and Satan was throwing at us and said, "Bring it! Because we will put our trust in God! We will survive this! And we will be a better family for it!!"
I shared a couple of weeks my "Why" for joining the company It Works. Today I've been thinking long and hard about my future goals. I got into this in order to make about an extra $500 every month to help with our family adventures during our travel time. So, what's my long-term goal? To keep this going! We will end traveling at some point in our future. And a travel nurse salary is enough for us for right now. But on the day that traveling for us ends, I don't want us to settle back into that crazy life that had complete control of our family. I want to continue to homeschool our children. I want to maintain financial stability to where Nathan doesn't have to go back to a stressful job again. I want to allow Nathan to work from home and me go back to work part-time. I want our kids to grow up and remember what "family time" is all about. We love family field trips. We love famiy dinners. We love watching Little House on The Prairie together! And I love hearing my children talk about how much better things are when all of us are home together.
I am so thankful that God has blessed us with the ability to travel as a family. He has shown us over and over how he can provide for us if when trust in Him. I am so thankful that a year into it He has now provided us with an extra source of income to continue to provide for us. I believe in this company and it's products. But more importanly, I believe in what this company stands for! And any company with Christian values that fights for financial freedom for families and encourages a debt free life is good news to me! I'm excited to see what our future holds for us and our family! ‪#‎itworksadventure‬

Love reading your updates. Your family's adventure in part has encouraged my wife and I to go full time RV-ing all over the country starting this fall. For at least one year we're going to homeschool our children and travel together. If we still like it after a year then we'll keep doing it. But I doubt we would have ever committed to it if hadn't been for blogs like yours. Thank you for sharing with us! - Json Henry
