July 3rd Capitol Rehersal

We headed to the Capitol late on July 3rd to see the dress rehearsal for the 4th of July show.  We had our blankets, snacks, drinks, cameras, popcorn, cookies...the works!  But somehow we totally missed the fact that it was raining and didn't have raincoats or umbrellas.  Oh well.  When we got to the Capitol, we found out that the area had been evacuated due to the threat of severe weather.  Well, closed to the "General Public" so they wouldn't let us through the gates.  Nathan said that he was offended by the general public comment and thought we should have said, "Don't you know who we are?  We are from Nashville and my wife has sang at the Nashville Sounds game, on television and on stage at the Grand Ole Opry with Carrie Underwood!"  LOL.  We headed back to the car and decided to take the kids to see a movie instead.  But then, when we got across town to a movie theater, it was out of power due to a lightening strike.  So....we took our snacks, blankets and wet clothes back home.  We dried off and snuggled up on the couch to watch another episode of Little House on the Prairie.  Perfect ending to a long day if you ask me.
